NEW PROJECT: making a new “home” in this old house
NL. Dit huis, gelegen “onder de toren” van de Sint-Pauluskerk te Vossem, heeft een stevige opfrisbeurt nodig. en om een thuis te kunnen worden voor de nieuwe bewoonster zal het huis zich terug of eindelijk moeten nestelen in zijn omgeving… het onverharde pad erlangs, als toegang tot een achterliggend openbaar park, heeft met de jaren bijna de hele zijtuin veroverd.
EN. This house, located “under the tower” of the local church in Vossem, needs a serious makeover. And in order to become a ‘home’ for the new resident, the house will have to nestle again or finally in its surroundings… the unpaved path aside of the house, as access to the public park behind, has concurred almost the entire side garden over the years.

NL. oa de COVID crisis betekende het einde van dit gekende steak restaurant BISTEC. De nieuwe bouwheer, zelf ook werkzaam in de horeca, ziet een uitdaging in de realisatie van een gemengd project met horeca, een ambacht atelier, en wonen ...als architect zien wij ook uitdaging in de ecologische, energetische en circulaire aspecten…
EN. the COVID crisis meant the end of this well-known steak restaurant BISTEC. The new client, also working in horeca, sees a challenge in the realization of a mixed use project with horeca, a craft studio, and housing ... as an architect we see further also a challenge in the ecological, energetic and circular aspects…
NEW PROJECT: rebirth of a stylish town house
NL. Een lang leven als stijlvolle stadswoning heeft dit huis moe en afgeleefd gemaakt. De nieuwe eigenaars willen het historische karakter in ere herstellen en tegelijkertijd de woning vernieuwen met meer focus op groen, licht, ruimte en comfort.
EN. A long life as a stylish town house has made this building tired and decrepit. The new owners want to restore the historic character of the place and at the same time renew the house with a strong focus on greenery, light, space and comfort.

NEW PROJECT: A house IN a barn
NL. +/- 10 jaar geleden verbouwde de huidige eigenaar het woongedeelte van een oude hoeve tot z’n nieuwe woonplek. De schuur en de stallen bleven onaangeroerd. Tot vandaag! Studieproject hoe een 2de, compacte woning inclusief overdekte buitenruimten onderdak te bieden onder de hoge gewelven van deze oude schuur.
EN. +/- 10 years ago, the current owner converted the living area of an old farm into his new home. The barn and stables were left untouched. Until today! Study project how to fit a 2nd home and covered outdoor spaces under the high vaults of this old barn.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION: private feestzaal in Vollezele
NL. De oude feestzaal was volledig opgeleefd en werd daarom door “het Kerkfabriek” van de hand gedaan. De nieuwe private eigenaar probeert nu met een nieuwe zaal ‘in hoevestijl” de plek nieuw leven in te blazen. Dakwerken in volle uitvoering.
EN. The old community hall was completely worn out and was therefore sold by “het Kerkfabriek”. The new private owner is now trying to bring new life into the place with a new ‘farm style’ building. Roof works in full execution.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: apartments in Herselt
NL. De percelen van 2 vrijstaande oude woningen met bijgebouwen werden bij elkaar gevoegd om dit woonproject te realiseren. De architecturale vormgeving van dit appartementsgebouw is sober, hedendaags en kleinschalig. Focus ligt op kwaliteitsvolle woonunits met ruime buitenterrassen, rijkelijke lichtinval en respect voor privacy. Dakwerken in volle uitvoering.
EN. The plots of 2 detached old houses with outbuildings were joined together to realize this residential project. The architectural design of this apartment building is sober, contemporary and small-scale. Focus is on high-quality living units with spacious outdoor terraces, abundant light and respect for privacy. Roof finishing in full execution.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: floating villa in Begijnendijk
NL. Wonen in een prachtige natuurlijke omgeving die door zijn overstromingsgevoeligheid soms helemaal onder water komt te staan. Het kan, als we het slim en correct aanpakken, met respect voor de omgevingscondities. Met een overstroombare kruipruimte als waterbuffer, met een verhoogd woonniveau boven het hoogst gemeten waterpeil, met zwevende buitencirculatie en terrassen op palen. Zicht betonnen “floating villa” volop in afwerkingsfase.
EN. Living in a beautiful natural environment that is sometimes completely flooded due to its flood sensitivity. It is possible if we approach it smartly and correctly, with respect for the surrounding conditions. With a floodable basement as a water buffer, with an elevated living ground floor, above the highest measured water level, with floating outside circulation areas and terraces on stilts. MIXED USE housing project in Schaerbeek: building permit received!!!
NL. Het bouwperceel is gelegen op een kruispunt van verschillende transportmodi (auto, trein, bus, fiets, …) en in een zeer gevarieerde buurt, met drukke commerciële activiteiten (Brabantstraat), met dense bewoning, met de activiteit van raamprostitutie (Aarschotstraat) en de nabijheid van kantoren aan de andere zijde van de spoorweg. Dit bouwproject spiegelt zich aan deze buurt door zijn gelaagdheid, zowel qua functies als qua architecturale layout.

The building plot is located at a crossroads of different transport modes (car, train, bus, bicycle, ...) and in a very varied neighborhood, with busy commercial activities (Brabantstraat), dense habitation, with the activity of window prostitution (Aarschotstraat) and the proximity to offices on the other side of the railway. This building project mirrors this neighborhood due to its stratification, both in terms of functions and architectural layout.
